Bihar cabinet discusses Lokayukta proposal
Bihar cabinet today discussed threadbare the proposal for constituting an effective and strong ‘Lokayukta’ which also proposes to bring the chief minister under its purview.
A state cabinet meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar extensively deliberated on the proposal, state Cabinet Coordination department Secretary Ravi Kant said.
The cabinet also decided to seek public opinion, under proposal for effective and strong Lokayukta by November 22, and formed a committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi to fine tune the draft for the Lokayukta.
A bill was proposed to be tabled in the winter season of state assembly in December, Kant said.
