Bihar CM talks cooperation with Chinese authorities

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar who is on an official visit to China since Monday attended Bihar-Shandong round table conference at Shandong and discussed issues of mutual interest and cooperation. Nitish is leading a seven member delegation which comprises two Bihar ministers, two representatives of commerce and industry and three bureaucrats.

The Shandong team headed by director of foreign affairs office of provincial government Zhang Weiling made a presentation on building infrastructure and agriculture. The issues related to alternative building material technology and brick and roofing material were discussed.

Government sources said other issues discussed include water use efficiency for irrigation, methods to control floods, solar energy, tourism and Nalanda International University in which China is a stakeholder.

Senior authorities of the Shandong provincial government participated in the discussion. They included deputy directors of the department of water resources, tourism bureau, agriculture and foreign office Cao Jinping, Yu Fenggui, Zhou Zhansheng and Sun Chuanshang respectively.

Apart from them director of administration bureau of construction project Song Ruiqian, director of international cooperation division of agriculture department Yang Ming, deputy division chief of tourism bureau Wang Rongguo, deputy general manager of Jian Jiabo Milk Group L V Suquiang and deputy general manager of Jian Mintian Flour company Pan Huimin.

Nitish and his entourage visited Hongqiao Transport Hub in Shandong and were surprised to find a bus and subway terminal, railway station and an airport in one complex. Vice governor of Shandong and a member of standing committee of Communist Party of China Wang Junmin hosted a dinner in the honour of Nitish.
