Bihar to construct 420 silos to improve foodgrain storage
Patna, Jun 3 (PTI) Bihar government today decided to construct 420 silos at an expense of Rs 256.62 crore for improving the foodgrains-storage capacity in the state. The state cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar approved a proposal to this effect brought by the state Food and Consumer Protection department here.
These silos would have the storage capacity of 2,82,000 metric tonnes of foodgrains, Principal Secretary to State Cabinet Coordination department Ravikant told reporters here.
The cabinet also approved a proposal from the state Transport department for high-security number plates in keeping with the central motor vehicle rules 1989, Ravikant said, adding a committee headed by Development Commissioner would decide the rate of high-security number plates. The decision was taken in the wake of the ruling of the apex court to avoid misuse of vehicles.
