Nitish inaugurates Shatabdi memorial park at Saguna Mor
PATNA: CM Nitish Kumar on Monday opened the Shatabdi Smark Park at Saguna Mor near Danapur as a Diwali gift to the people Constructed on one acre of land at a cost of Rs 4.98 crore, the park has been set up to commemorate the centenary of the creation of Bihar.
He extended greetings of Dhanteras, Diwali, Chhath and Bakrid to the people of the state on the occasion.
He directed the road construction department (RCD) secretary Pratyaya Amrit to install a plaque detailing the expressions made artistically in the park for the benefit of the visiting public. “Our target is to take Bihar to new heights and to restore its 2500-year-old ancient glory,” he said while expressing confidence that the park will become a tourist spot.
Nitish said the GDP of Bihar has risen from 11% to 14.01% surpassing all states and gave its credit to the people for generating an atmosphere of harmony, confidence and unity.
Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, who was present on the occasion, stressed the need to raise beautiful parks at all the entry points which should exhibit the glorious past of Bihar. “Bihar is growing and it will be among the developed states by 2015,” he said. RCD minister Nand Kishore Yadav presided over the function.
