Patna HC direct centre to file report on Patna AIIMS in 24 hrs
Patna High Court today directed the Centre to place records before it within 24 hours stating detailed plan about appointment of doctors and paramedical staff of proposed Jaiprakash Narain All India Institute of Medical Sciences and also reasons for the delay in completion of the project.
After hearing arguments on the petition filed by Council for protection of public rights, a division bench comprising justice P C Verma and justice A K Trivedi directed the Centre to place records before the court within 24 hours stating the detailed plan for appointment of para-medical staff and doctors in proposed Jaiprakash Narain All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
The Court also directed the Centre to put its views on escalation of the project from Rs 300 Crores to Rs 800 Crores due to delay in its completion.
It may recalled here that the then vice-president Bhairon Singh Sekhawat had laid the foundation stone of Jaiparakash Narain All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna in January 2004.
The petition was filed by general secretary of the Council for protection of Public Rights in 2005.
