Indian Association for Bihar and Jharkhand (IABJ) and Bihar Foundation, Qatar Chapter is celebrating 100 years of Bihar Divas at 6.30 pm on 13 May 2011 at Al Ghazal Club, Doha-Qatar.
Super 30 founder Anand Kumar, whose novel initiative has helped several students from poor families crack the IIT-JEE, will be conferred the prestigious ‘Education in Excellence’ Award-2011′ in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on May 13.
“Bihar Divas” event at Sydney organized by Bihar Foundation Sydney Chapter became huge success. All the Bihari Diaspora celebrated Bihar Divas with much joy, enthusiasm and excitement.
The event also heralded the beginning of Bihar’s yearlong centenary celebrations which will end on March 24, 2012.
On the eve of Bihar Diwas the president of Bjana, said that our goal is to make this Organization open, vibrant, and transparent.
Bihar Day was celebrated on March 22 by Bangalore chapter of Bihar Foundation at Hockey Stadium, Bangalore. Honorable Member of Parliament and former union minister Sri Syed Shahnawaz Hussain was the chief guest on this occasion.
Chief minister Nitish Kumar, who flagged off the rally, recounted the glorious past of the ancient city of Pataliputra during the reign of Emperor Ashoka who ruled from here.
During his interaction with Nitish, Kakwi said people of the Gulf countries, including Qatar, have all praise for the state which has registered significant development in education, health and social welfare sectors.
According to the college principal Sita Ram Singh, the highlight of the celebration was a colourful Prabhat Pheri taken out by boys and girls of the college.
Curtains came down on the three-day Bihar Diwas celebrations on Thursday, but it turned out to be an unforgettable moment in the annals of Bihar by invoking pride among Biharis and developing a sense of commonality and belongingness to the state.
