Rs 308 crore for construction of duplex bunglows for MLAs, MLCs
Patna, Dec 20 (PTI) Bihar Government today sanctioned Rs 307.73 crore for construction of 325 duplex bunglows for legislators.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretariat) Ravikant told reporters.
The 325 duplex houses for the members of the state legislature will be constructed under the Model Legislator Residential Building Project, he said.
Besides 325 duplex houses, two hostels and other facilities would also be developed for the lawmakers, Ravikant said, adding that the houses would be constructed on a 70-acre land spread over Veerchand Path, R Block and Daroga Rai Path after razing down the existing flats for them, Ravikant said.
The bicameral state legislature has in all 318 legislators comprising 243 MLAs and 75 MLCs.
